The difference between using the eyedroppers and Auto Levels is most noticeable in the saturation of the trees in the upper left. There is better definition and contrast overall in the top image.
The colour balance is slightly different. If you look at the waterfalls, the ones in the Auto Levels image are slightly blue. The Eyedropper version is weighted towards red. The colour balance is easily correctable, as you'll see when we get to correcting colour.
