Overview
In this module you'll learn about using colour in Photoshop. It covers colour modes, setting colours, the Colour and Swatches panels, mixing your own colours using the colour picker, and using the Eyedropper tool to sample colours from images.
Here is a summary of the topics in this module:
- (1) Colour Modes
- Colour modes are the colour spaces you can work in when using Photoshop that are based on colour models. The different colour modes are explained and procedures for converting from one mode to another are described.
- (2) Setting the Foreground and Background Colours
- The Toolbox contains a foreground and background colour swatch. This lecture describes working with these controls.
- (3) Colour Panel
- The Colour panel provides a way of selecting foreground and background colours.
- (4) Swatches Panel
- The Swatches panel contains colour samples that are stored in swatch libraries. You can use these swatches to select colours. You can add custom colours to the swatches, delete swatches, load libraries into the panel and create your own libraries.
- (5) Colour Picker
- You can create your own custom colours with the colour picker and can do so using a number of different colour models.
- (6) Eyedropper Tool
- You can sample colours from the current image or from other open images by using the Eyedropper tool.
