Overview
In this section we will look at creating images, opening or importing new images, navigating around an image, resizing an image, and the History panel.
There are a couple of files you will need to have to do the exercises.

Here is a summary of the topics in this module:
- (1) Creating New Images
- This lecture covers the choices you can make when setting up a new image document.
- (2) Image Window
- The window of an image document displays information relevant to the image's characteristics, such as its name, colour space and file size.
- (3) Opening Images
- This lecture discusses the process of opening existing image files including those in vector format.
- (4) Adobe Bridge
- Adobe Bridge can be used like a gallery of thumbnails displaying images in a folder on your hard drive. It can perform a number of image management functions.
- (5) Mini Bridge Panel
- The Mini Bridge is a scaled-down version of Adobe Bridge. It provides some of the functionality of Bridge right in the Photoshop interface.
- (6) Magnification/Navigation Controls
- Learn about the various methods for adjusting the magnification of your image and how to navigate around an image.
- (7) Image Size Dialog
- An image's dimensions, resolution and document size can be changed using the Image Size dialog. You'll learn about resampling and interpolation methods.
- (8) Undoing Changes
- This lecture covering various methods of undoing editing changes including the History panel. This very useful panel lists your recent editing actions and lets you undo multiple actions. This lecture also describes taking snapshots, a utility that lets you revert to a previously defined stage of your editing.
- (9) Adding Notes
- Text notes can be attached to image files. This is particularly useful if you're sharing files with others.
